How do I send a card?
Step 1: Choose a Greeting Card Category
Categories have different sets of bears, headings, and music,
although most bears are included in more than one category. There
is no "generic" category; you can make a custom Free Greeting
Card in any category by choosing the bear you like, and personalizing
your message. Then, if no heading or quote applys, choose "None".
Step 2: Create your Free Greeting Card; a few tips:
- Use the TAB key to advance from section to section. This will make your selections easier.
- Use the BACK button on your browser to come back to your selections, after viewing quotes and error messages.
The BACK button is located in the top left-hand corner of your screen.
- The number of message lines is unlimited, but we suggest 25 or less
- You may use HTML in your message. For a list of common HTML tags, refer to What is HTML?
- To hear your music selection, the Recipient must have:
1. speakers and a sound card installed on their computer
2. some kind of midi audio player installed on their computer
- You MUST fill in your Name, Recipient's Name, and both E-Mail addresses.
- Use the TAB key when filling out the Name/E-mail section, to advance from field to field.
Don't hit ENTER, or you will see an error message.
- To send an anonymous card, just sign your name as Guess Who!
Step 3: Preview your Free Greeting Card:
Hit the button at the bottom of the page when you have made your choices.
The Preview section will show exactly how your friend will see
their card, with music playing if any selected.
You may re-do your Free Greeting Card by using your
browser's BACK button to go back.
If you like your creation, click on the "Send" button.
Well do the rest!

Information about e-mail addresses
If it says that your e-mail is invalid, you have probably made
a typo. Correct e-mail syntax has no spaces, no commas, and
looks like this: name@mailhost.dom
Outside of AOL, AOL users must remember to type their e-mail
address as above, for example, "name25@aol.com" and
NOT "name25".
You MUST fill in your Name, Recipients Name, and both
E-Mail addresses.
You may only send to one person at a time; multiple e-mail addresses
are not allowed.

How do I hear the music selection? Can my friend
hear it if I cant?
For anyone to hear the music selection, they must have:
1. speakers and a sound card installed on their computer
2. some kind of midi audio player installed on their computer.
Note that if you have a sound card, most probably you have the midi audio player with
your browser installed by default.
If you are using Netscapes browser, refer to
http://home.netscape.com/plugins/index.htmlfor
detailed information about audio players and where to get them.
The Sender does not need the above installed to select music, as long as the Recipient has
those items installed to hear it.

Are all browsers able to work with and read Vermont
Teddy Bear's Free Greeting Cards?
All browsers (such as "Microsoft Explorer", "Netscape
Navigator") will work with the Vermont Teddy Bear Free
Greeting Cards, with the exception of an old AOL-IWENG browser,
which does not render forms correctly. To correct this, upgrade
to at least the AOL3 version of the browser, or use another.

You are probably working with a very old browser (like AOL-IWENG), which does not render

What is HTML?
HTML is coding used to change the appearance of text. To use it, simply place HTML "tags" in front of and after the words whose appearance you wish to change.

will change the text to bold: I Love You
Examples of common tags are:
- <B> and </B> make text bold
- <I> and </I> make text italic
- <U> and </U> make text underlined
- <CENTER> and </CENTER> make text centered
- <BR> and </BR> make a line break
